Write-In Dick?

Ken Layne is wondering about Richard Riorden as a write-in candidate for Governor of California now that Bill Simon seems to be dead in the water. If you've spent any time in So CA, you may understand how a Republican moderate like Riordan would look better than a 'Repub in Dem's clothing' like Davis. But I still maintain that having the State in the hands of the Dems is more important for the '04 nationals than having a better man in the job up in Sacramento. Riordan would be a better man, but it now seems certain that Simon would not, so the BadDude endorsement stays with Davis.

An Interesting Idea

Bigwig over at Silflay Hraka proposes an interesting idea regarding the problem of the Palestinian right of return. Armed Liberal is intrigued, and I think it has some merit. I would add a suggestion that a few of the regional nations participate as well.

Move To The Left

Recent weeks have seen the number of liberal blogs increase at a rapid pace. As a way of simplifying my own life, I have started a blog called The Lefty Directory as a guide to the Left Wing of the blogosphere. I hope this will be helpful to some of my readers.

Bad Girls / Good Girls

Madison Slade is the latest blogger to submit to the Dawn Olsen Interview. It's a very entertaining read wherein Maddie confess her crush on Doc Searls, the story behind that lesbian incident, and much more. Don't miss it.

Silly Sulli

Things in the blog world are rapidly deteriorating into a pile-on for Andrew Sullivan. This time it's Matt Welch taking apart Sulli in such a way that the only thing that's left with any credibility is the time-stamp on poor Andrew's post.

Blog Music

Eric Olsen has a great idea for using the power of blogs. Thanks to Glenn Reynolds, it seems to be gaining support. Go read about it.

Happy Birthday Doc Searls !

Go wish Doc a Happy 55th birthday!

Oh Andy...

Today started out as a rather innocuous day over in Sulli-ville. He even posted a rebuke to the Bush Administration for yet another Rove-inspired, morally corrupt political decision that will cost people their lives. That would be the decision to withdraw funds from the U.N. Population Fund, in case you hadn't heard.

Then old kooky Andy turns around in the very next post and manages to insult the intelligence of his readers while simultaneously dissing president Clinton and Robert Rubin (that's Bob to Andy). Sulli posts a quote that claims Clinton's many faults do not include greed side by side with a quote from the NYT (that Liberal rag) that implies the Clinton's request to have their Whitewater legal fees covered by the government is somehow unseemly in light of Mr. Clinton's income.

First of all, if Sulli is concerned about taxpayer money being spent unwisely, perhaps he could remember that one Ken Starr spent over 70 million in an unsuccessful witchhunt of the Clintons. And second, if Clinton is rightfully due to be compensated, then he should be so compensated regardless of his income. Whether he earned 9 hundred or 9 million last year has no bearing on the issue.

I'm sure that if Sulli had run up 3 mil in legal bills defending himself from a partisan attack that was proven to have no merit, and there was even a slight chance that he would be eligible for compensation, he'd file his papers real quick-like. And if I were in president Clinton's shoes, I'd file for compensation regardless of how much money I had simply to remind everyone that I had been targeted in an extra-constitutional effort to remove me from office. To humbly agree to foot the bill myself would be to imply that the investigation was legitimate. I hope he gets the 3 mil, and we can ring that up with the other 70 that Starr and Company cost us. Fuckers.

UPDATE: Sullivan is catching a beating over at Rittenhouse too. It's Andy and Camille! Almost too easy...(permalinks working now)

24 Hours With Dawn

Congratulations to Dawn Olsen for completing her 24hr Blogathon! There's a lot of entertainment to be had over at Up Yours, so go check out what Dawn and her co-conspirators Moxie and Shell have been doing to raise money for charity.

Also amongst the bloggers pulling all-nighters was Laurence Simon and Meryl Yourish. Wonderful content for a normally slow bloggin' Sunday. Go consume. And don't forget, it's not too late to donate to any of their causes!
